White Supremacists May Be Behind Cop Bombs

Police overkill on a fringe hate group or crackdown of domestic terrorists?

The Southern California homes of dozens of white supremacists were raided Tuesday as part of a probe into a string of potentially deadly booby trap attacks targeting police officers, authorities said.

Federal and local officers converged on 35 homes and took 16 people into custody in Riverside County for a variety of crimes, including weapons, narcotics and parole violations, Hemet police Capt. Dave Brown said.

None of the arrests were directly related to the booby trap attacks that have plagued the small Hemet Police Department since New Year's Eve.

"But we hope some (arrests) will lead us to our suspects," Brown said.

District Attorney Rod Pacheco said everyone arrested was connected to white supremacist groups.

"They are upset with our aggressive posture against all gangs," Pacheco said. "White supremacist gangs have been very violent, especially toward law enforcement."

Hemet police have been targeted at least three times. In one case, a ballistic device strapped to a fence at the gang unit compound sent a bullet within inches of an officer's face.

McAfee Update Causing Global Meltdown of XP PCs

At 6AM today, McAfee released an update to its antivirus definitions for corporate customers that had a slight problem. And by “slight problem,” I mean the kind that renders a PC useless until tech support shows up to repair the damage manually

McAfee’s “DAT” file version 5958 is causing widespread problems with Windows XP SP3. The affected systems will enter a reboot loop and [lose] all network access. We have individual reports of other versions of Windows being affected as well. However, only particular configurations of these versions appear affected. The bad DAT file may infect individual workstations as well as workstations connected to a domain. The use of “ePolicyOrchestrator”, which is used to update virus definitions across a network, appears to have [led] to a faster spread of the bad DAT file. The ePolicyOrchestrator is used to update “DAT” files throughout enterprises. It can not be used to undo this bad signature because affected system will lose network connectivity.

The problem is a false positive which identifies a regular Windows binary, “svchost.exe”, as “W32/Wecorl.a”, a virus.

Ben Roethlisberger Suspended for 6 Games

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello tweets that Roethlisberger has been suspended six games. "He must undergo comprehensive behavioral evaluation," Aiello added.

The suspension can be reduced to four games if the Steelers QB meets certain conditions, but "failure [to] cooperate [could] lead to longer suspension," according to Aiello.

In an at-times severely critical letter to Roethlisberger, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell wrote that "there is nothing about your conduct in Milledgeville that can remotely be described as admirable, responsible, or consistent with either the values of the league or the expectations of our fans." (Scroll down to see more excerpts.)

"Your conduct raises sufficient concerns that I believe effective intervention now is the best step for your personal and professional welfare," he wrote.

Goodell said on Monday that Roethlisberger violated the league's personal-conduct policy. In March, the two-time Super Bowl champion was accused of sexual assault for the second time in less than a year. While no charges were ultimately filed, documents from the police investigation revealed unflattering information about Roethlisberger.

This Man is NOT a Licensed Breast Inspector

Women have been coming out the wood work accusing Steven Seagal of sexual harassment. Court documents show Seagal may be a serial breast groper

Two more women have come forward claiming Steven Seagal made unwanted sexual advances toward them while they worked for the actor ... but Seagal's lawyer tells a very different story.

TMZ has learned both women have provided Kayden Nguyen with sworn declarations, to assist Nguyen's lawsuit against Seagal -- in which the 23-year-old claims she was sexually assaulted by the actor during her stint as his personal assistant
.

In one woman's declaration, obtained by TMZ, Seagal is accused of luring her into his bedroom, putting his hands on the woman's breasts and stating that he was "checking just as a doctor would for lumps."

The declaration continues, "Seagal reached his hand down my pants. He said, 'I just wanted to touch it for a second to see what it felt like.'"

The woman claims she screamed and cried until Seagal let her go.

Like Nguyen, both women claim they were hired by Seagal to serve as his assistant, but quit after Seagal made inappropriate sexual advances.

TMZ spoke with Seagal's lawyer, Marty Singer, who tells us, "My client has no knowledge of these women and a preliminary check of his employment records does not show that they ever worked for him."

Singer also stated that regardless of whether they worked for him or not, their claims are "absurd."

Singer concluded, "The declarations were clearly prepared by Nguyen's lawyer to be leaked to the media to help bolster his client's meritless claims."
