Pope accused of ignoring pleas to stop priest who molested 200 deaf boys
The Roman Catholic Church’s account of Pope Benedict XVI’s handing of a serial paedophile was called into question today when new documents emerged suggesting that his office was kept informed of the offender’s rapid return to working with children.
Contrary to statements released by the church in Germany, a memorandum uncovered by the New York Times suggests that Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was told that a priest had gone back to pastoral duties in Munich a few days after he started psychiatric treatment. The priest went on to commit further offences.
The latest child abuse scandal to hit the Catholic Church involves a German priest called Father Peter Hullermann, who was convicted of molesting boys in 1986. Victims have complained that repeated warnings were ignored by the church over decades of abuse.

Sad stuff. I wish the Pope would let their priests marry and accept homosexuality.

I'm sure there is a naughty power club within the Church-the only reason why someone would want power in the Church to begin with.
Catholic politics must be mostly about sex, luxury and the incompetent desire to control and keep people ignorant through mysticism. Other than government politics, to have power in the Catholic Church is a drone's ultimate fantasy.

I'm sure not every Catholic wanting power in the Church has bad intentions.
But, I assume politics within the Church are tougher than American politics and that upper management doesn't follow the tenets.
It would be virtually impossible. Ya know-humans, control over other humans who seek external authority, competition, jockeying for positions, wealth, prestige, the facts (historical and psychological)...I doubt they do.
